BIOL 102 - Introduction to Biology Lab Units: 1 ; Breadth Area: GE-5C Laboratory exposure to biological phenomena including microscope activities of cells, osmosis, diffusion, human nutrition, human genetics, plant growth, classification of plants and animals, fertilization and development, natural selection simulation, field ecology and ecosystems.
Breadth Area(s) Satisfied: GE-5C - Lower Division Physical and Biological Sciences (Laboratory) Co-requisites: BIOL 101. Credit Restrictions: Not for biology major or minor credit; not open to students with credit for BIOL 100.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the basic concepts in biology covered in lab;
- Examine and use data and visual displays of information (e.g., graphs, tables, textbook figures, concept maps/flow charts) to explain biological concepts;
- Construct scientific questions; Analyze and interpret data and communicate ideas orally and in writing.
