PSYC 320 - Physiological Psychology


Units: 4
The biological foundations of human and animal behavior, including physiological processes related to sensory and motor activity, perception, learning, thinking, motivation, and emotion.

Prerequisites: PSYC 200.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Demonstrate understanding of the biological factors that underlie psychological processes.
  2. Explain the use of scientific methods as applied to physiological psychology.
  3. Describe and explain the various systems/main concepts of the nervous system (including parts of the brain, neuronal communication, drugs, hormones, sexual differentiation, hearing, vision, learning, and memory, language, and psychological disorders).
  4. Relate concepts covered in class to real-life conditions, such as neurological diseases or disorders and basic behaviors and physiological processes.
