NURS 623 - Organizational Systems and Finance Management in Health Care Units: 3 Examines organizational health care delivery systems and organizational development from a nursing management perspective. Issues of healthcare economics, financial management, budgeting, current regulatory agency requirements and standards are discussed.
Prerequisites: M.S.N. major. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Analyze structures of health care delivery systems, strategies for organizational development, and financial structures of health care systems.
- Analyze economic, legal and political factors and their impact on health care systems.
- Discuss implementation and impact of current health care regulations for health care systems.
- Differentiate between measures of performance in healthcare settings including capacity, utilization, nursing performance and financial indicators.
- Apply principles of budget forecasting, planning, development, management, and control to healthcare settings.
- Demonstrate principles of strategic planning. Compare and contrast models of financial analysis including cost benefit analysis in healthcare programs and services.
- Describe components of a business plan and health program grant in the healthcare settings.
