NURS 603 - Healthcare Systems, Technologies and Informatics Units: 3 Learners analyze current and emerging healthcare information and communication technologies to enhance care of individuals, communities, and populations with a focus on inter-professional collaboration to employ best practice in electronic health, mobile health, and telehealth systems.
Prerequisites: Admission to M.S. Nursing program. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Analyze/evaluate current information and communication technologies for their ability to positively impact workflow process, team communications, and patient outcomes
- Identify fiscal, quality, ethical, and legal barriers or limitations of current information and communication technologies
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data from health information databases to promote system improvements
- Use evidence-based information and communication technologies involved in the provision of person-centered, equitable, cost-efficient, and quality nursing care.
