ENGL 206 - Beginning Workshop in Poetry

Introduction to poetry writing of various types with emphasis on basic techniques. May be repeated once for credit for a maximum of 8 units.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Demonstrate in their writing of original poems a basic understanding of a range of styles and approaches in verse writing;
Read professional poems critically and as models for their own writing;
Have provided useful, craft-based feedback to their workshop peers.
