TED 623 - Advanced Studies in Methods for English Language Learners Units: 3 Advanced work in current methods to develop reading, writing, listening and speaking in target language of students. Basis for specialized curriculum development for multilingual and cross-cultural settings.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop instructional strategies and methods based on knowledge of language acquisition stages and state content academic standards.
- Analyze teaching methods and strategies for a culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
- Identify characteristics of different types of English Learners in the United States.
- Implement instructional methods and strategies that demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity of language minority students and their cultures.
