REC 481 - Recreation Therapy Internship Units: 6 Over a minimum of 15 weeks, complete a 600-hour recreation therapy internship under the supervision of a professional in the field. Develop a capstone project that demonstrates knowledge learned throughout the program. Must complete all Recreation Therapy concentration courses and all but 2 major core courses prior to enrolling. Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA to enroll.
Prerequisites: REC 476 and Department consent. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Apply the therapeutic recreation process, use diverse, structured ways of thinking to solve problems related to different facets of professional practice, engage in advocacy, and stimulate innovation during the internship.
- Evaluate internship progress during 80, 160, 240, 320, 400, 480, 560,+600 of completed internships hours.
- Develop an internship project.
- Evaluate Internship Midterm and Final Report.
- Examine Study Guide Assignments.
