COMM 461 - Popular Culture Units: 4 Critical analysis of how popular culture (music, television, advertising, movies, fashion, style, social media, etc.) works and doesn’t work dialectically in our interactions with self and others.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Demonstrate critical understanding and application of media creation and analysis;
- Demonstrate understanding of the persuasive effects of media choices upon the development of popular culture;
- Identify examples of popular culture persuasion in various forms of media and discuss their influence/s;
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of various uses of media to influence popular culture.
