PSYC 300W - Experimental Psychology Units: 4; UWR A research course in the development, design, and execution of psychological experiments; the analysis of data; and the writing of research reports in APA format. Must earn C- (CR) or better for UWR credit.
Prerequisites: Psychology major. PSYC 200 and STAT 310, satisfaction of second composition and junior or senior standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Online-Asynchronous. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Describe the scientific process in general and experimental research in particular.
- Identify the characteristics of a research hypothesis.
- Use scholarly resources to locate relevant scientific literature.
- Evaluate journal articles.
- Identify the principles of research ethics.
- Collect and manage data.
- Analyze data using appropriate statistical techniques and interpret the results.
- Present research findings in American Psychological Association format.
