BIOL 466 - Population Biology Units: 4 Study of the sizes, distributions and genetics of natural populations, including the processes affecting reproduction, age structure, density, growth, population fluctuations and evolution. Lecture Units: 2; Lab Units: 2
Prerequisites: BIOL 320. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explain the evolutionary mechanisms underlying population structure, change and function;
- Explain the ecological factors influencing population structure, change and function;
- Understand and apply models describing population growth and density;
- Design and implement experiments examining population composition and dynamics;
- Effectively interpret and communicate the design and results of scientific experiments in written and verbal format.
