GEOL 651 - Hydroinformatics

This course applies informatics strategies and techniques to hydrologic problems. Advanced methods for hydrologic analyses and data visualization using computer programming. Lecture Units: 4

Strongly Recommended Preparation: ENSC-350 (GEOL 350) or equivalent
Prerequisites: CHEM 100 or CHEM 111; and MATH 120, MATH 125, or MATH 130; and PHYS 125 or PHYS 135.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Compute measures of hydrologic behavior by writing short computer programs.
  2. Interpret data with respect to hydrologic behavior.
  3. Represent the results of analyses using appropriate data visualization techniques.
  4. Apply informatics concepts to address a hydrology research question using available data.
