FIN 685 - Personal Financial Planning

Practice of personal financial planning to achieve client objectives. Topics include the financial services environment, ethics and professional responsibility, budgeting, debt management, employee benefits, investments, insurance, and retirement and estate planning.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online Asynchronous or Online Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Create a personal financial plan.
  2. Analyze personal financial statements.
  3. Calculate financial planning goals using time value of money techniques.
  4. Develop a cash flow plan.
  5. Describe the key types of debt, investments, and insurance products.
  6. Explain techniques of retirement and estate planning.
