CS 685 - Internet of Things


Units: 3
Introduction to Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications. Topics include IoT: sensor selection, embedded programming, cloud integration, security, architecture, protocols, and applications. Programming projects and literature review of current trends.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: MS Computer Science Student
Credit Restrictions: Not open for credit to non-M.S. or non-B.S. Computer Science majors.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
1) Utilize sensors and embedded systems to solve problems.

2) Use different network protocols to communicate with IoT devices.

3) Apply different tools to analyze and visualize sensor data.

4) Identify current trends in IoT.
