EDLD 782 - Dissertation Committee Seminar II Units: 1 Implementation of a dissertation research design. In-depth guidance in successfully conducting dissertation research, including gathering and analyzing data.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify and analyze gaps and biases in professional knowledge (8.4).
- Assess research design, claims, evidence, validity, and value in theoretical and ethical context (8.5).
- Assess research design, claims, evidence, validity, and value in context of educational organizations, systems, and communities (8.6).
- Identify and analyze multiple research designs to best address gaps in knowledge (8.7).
- Design and apply appropriate research methodology in framing and carrying out inquiry, including the implementation one’s own approved dissertation research design (8.7).
- Demonstrate proficiency in academic writing genres, including logical argumentation, coherent organization, and appropriate sentence structures (9.1).
- Assess, evaluate, and synthesize evidence to support an argument (9.2).
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication with practitioner audiences, including evaluation reports, summarizing/presenting research, and developing and successfully defending a final dissertation proposal (9.3).
