The ecology of nearshore rocky subtidal populations and communities with emphasis on kelp forests. Review of original literature. Fieldwork with SCUBA including group projects on underwater research techniques and community analysis, and individual research on ecological questions chosen by students. Lecture Units: 3; Lab Units: 1.

Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing, MSC 403 and department consent.
