HOS 355 - Advanced Lodging Management

Simulated management of a full-service hotel and other lodging facilities, including revenue management, group sales, marketing, public relations, and customer service.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: HOS 100, HOS 110 and HOS 200.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online Asynchronous or Online Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Understand research procedures such as survey formulation, data collection, and analysis.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of how a marketing plan is formulated and applied.
  3. Calculate hotel performance indicators by using foundational metrics and formulas.
  4. Evaluate hotel performance for forecasting, revenue management, sales, and marketing purposes.
  5. Analyze various types of hotel industry data Making strategic inferences for hotel industry.
