HOS 350 - Resort and Club Management


Units: 3
Description and evaluation of guest amenities and recreational features of resorts and clubs. Current trends and operational issues, including membership, financial and profitability factors.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: HOS 100, HOS 110, HOS 200 and HOS 205.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. describe and evaluate the various and unique guest amenities and recreation features for each type of resort and club.
  2. identify and describe the various types of clubs and resorts.
  3. explain the history and different philosophies of resort and club development .
  4. recognize current trends in the resort and club sectors .
  5. identify operational issues, including financial and profitable factors, and challenges in the resort and club sectors .
  6. develop their written and oral communication and  self-reflective thinking
