CS 665 - Human-Computer Interaction

Units: 3
Human-centered software design, interface paradigms, prototyping, performance models, usability testing, software logging, user observation, interaction styles, aesthetics, diversity and engagement, HCI in multimedia systems, collaboration, and communication systems. Programming projects and review of literature.

Prerequisites: CS 401 or CS 651.
Credit Restrictions: Computer Science M.S. or B.S. students only.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Apply core theories, models and methodologies of HCI to solve real-world problems.
Design and implement user-centered computer interfaces.
Analyze the performance and effectiveness of various interactive systems.
Evaluate and critique current research in interface design.
Develop systems for engaging diverse populations with special needs.
