MGMT 622 - Managing the Global Workplace Units: 3 Workforce issues faced by global managers and their solutions in the context of management theory and practice. International human resource & cross-cultural management issues in international organizations.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Demonstrate an understanding of the HR issues facing global HR managers today in HR planning, recruitment, selection, compensation, performance management, training, and expatriate assignments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the cultural basis of employee behavior in the global workplace.
- Apply an understanding of cross-cultural management concepts to create effective international teams and negotiate effectively across cultures.
- Apply an understanding of cross-cultural management concepts in designing HR systems for different global regions.
- Conduct quality research on HR systems to design appropriate HR systems for different countries and cultures and present it to an informed audience.
