ART 349B - Advanced Portrait Photography Units: 3 Studio lighting, digital imaging and camera techniques for professional portraiture. Students will learn a variety of advanced portrait technique in order to produce professional quality images.
Prerequisites: ART 349A. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Use advanced Portrait techniques with studio strobes;
- Demonstrate proficiency in creating an estimate and invoice for an editorial photography assignment;
- Use portraiture in a fine art context;
- Make professional quality portraits using natural light;
- Use specialized Photoshop techniques to enhance portraits;
- Identify current trends in portrait photography and use in portrait image production;
- Work independently on portrait and editorial style photography from concept to final image;
- Produce a professional quality portrait portfolio.
