MATH 285 - Introduction to Differential Equations


Units: 3
Solutions and applications of first order differential equations. Linear n-th order equations with emphasis on equations of 2nd order. Topics include Laplace transform and power series.

 

Prerequisites: MATH 131 with a grade of C- or better.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice)
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  1. Apply the definitions, techniques and theorems of differential equations.
  2. Apply differential equations to solve real world problems.
  3. Communicate solutions to problems in differential equations effectively.
