NURS 306 - Clinical Pathophysiology for the Associate Degree Nurse


Units: 4
Focus on mechanisms of disease, pathophysiological concepts and processes with emphasis on commonly occurring acute and chronic conditions and their clinical management and nursing implications.

Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment in ADN program or completion of ADN degree.
Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid Only.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Explain the pathogenesis of selected diseases and conditions.
  2. Correlate clinical manifestations and diagnostic findings with acute and chronic physiological alterations.
  3. Compare treatment options to manage acute and chronic disease conditions
  4. Discuss the nurse’s role and responsibility for assessment of individuals experiencing acute and chronic health alterations.
