MSC 405 - Marine Science Diving

Units: 3
Skin/SCUBA diving course with pool-training, ten ocean dives. Diving physics, physiology, diving environments, night diving and research diving. Successful completion gives AAUS and MLML scientific diver certification. CERTIFIED SCUBA DIVER (OR EQUIVALENCY), physical examination and ability to pass swimming test required.

Prerequisites: Department consent, junior, senior or post baccalaureate standing and Biological or Marine Science major.
Credit Restrictions: Not for major credit.

Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
