KIN 300 - Critical Inquiry in Kinesiology

Theory and application of research methods and data analysis to professional practice in kinesiology. Develop knowledge and skills to be a consumer and producer of research in kinesiology.

Prerequisites: B.S. Kinesiology major, BIOL 270, BIOL 271.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Plan and evaluate research.
Understand basic levels of measurement, validity, reliability, types of tests and be able to apply this knowledge when reading research studies.
Develop an understanding of statistics and how to present and interpret statistical results
Conceptualize and implement interview and observation scenarios that reflect the generation of qualitative data
Compare and contrast the different designs of qualitative and quantitative research
