MUS 380 - Recital Class

This class is designed to guide students through every aspect of the preparation for their degree recitals. Topics include creating the program, strategizing personal practice, addressing the logistics of performing a recital, musician wellness and the mental aspects of performance.

Prerequisites: Minimum of one course from the MUS 261-269 series.
Co-requisites: Minimum of one course from the MUS 361-370 series.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Develop a well-balanced and inclusive program with the appropriate format;
Develop long- and short-term practice strategies;
Explore musician wellness, mindfulness, and techniques to deal with performance anxiety;
Practice stage etiquette, audience interaction, and critique performances of peers.
