MUS 380 - Recital Class Units: 1 This class is designed to guide students through every aspect of the preparation for their degree recitals. Topics include creating the program, strategizing personal practice, addressing the logistics of performing a recital, musician wellness and the mental aspects of performance.
Prerequisites: Minimum of one course from the MUS 261-269 series. Co-requisites: Minimum of one course from the MUS 361-370 series. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Develop a well-balanced and inclusive program with the appropriate format;
- Develop long- and short-term practice strategies;
- Explore musician wellness, mindfulness, and techniques to deal with performance anxiety;
- Practice stage etiquette, audience interaction, and critique performances of peers.
