CS 671 - Cybersecurity Units: 3 Security principles, scope and vulnerabilities of Cyberspace, the problem of identity, privacy, malicious software, data security, cryptography, authentication in distributed systems, e-mail security, network security, wireless security, offensive security. Programming assignments and review of literature.
Prerequisites: CS 471 or M.S. Computer Science major. Credit Restrictions: Computer Science M.S. or B.S. students only.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Apply Cybersecurity requirements to security applications.
- Utilize security applications and tools to creatively solve security problems.
- Critically analyze the effects of Cybersecurity in society.
- Analyze a Cybersecurity problem, and identify and define the resources and requirements needed for its solution.
- Demonstrate communication skills in both written and oral form, and work in a team environment.
