ENGL 446 - Modern and Contemporary Poetry Units: 4 A study of representative Anglophone poets from 1914 to present.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify the central themes and aesthetic movements that characterize 20th- and 21st-century Anglophone poetry.
- Be able to do textual analysis (close reading) of individual poems from the 20th and 21st centuries.
- Conduct relevant research and produce formal, research-based essays on 20th- and 21st-century poetry, whether on an individual poet or a school of poetics.
