COMM 305 - Qualitative Communication Research Methods Units: 4 An overview of qualitative communication research methods, measures, analysis, and theoretical understandings of “audience”. Students become versed in the advantages of qualitative approaches and conduct primary qualitative research and analysis.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Students will be able to create research, select an appropriate theoretical model and methodological approach for research design;
- Students will be able to conduct in-depth interview research, conduct ethnographic research, and analyze and interpret research date;
- Discover the circumstances under which oppression is constructed/reproduced in every day media experiences and consumption.
