KIN 404 - Elementary Physical Education Curriculum Units: 3 Introduce prospective physical education teachers to recent trends in delivery of physical education programs at the elementary school level. Instructional strategies and activities appropriate for children in this setting. Lecture Units: 2; Activity Units: 1.
Prerequisites: B.S. Kinesiology major and KIN 302. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Identify relevant goals and current trends of elementary school physical education curriculum and instruction.
- Demonstrate the use of selected effective teaching techniques and tactics while teaching small groups of peers.
- Demonstrate accurate knowledge of factors that impact elementary school physical education programs.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward physical activity and physical education by participating in interactive activities.
