HIST 600 - Reading Seminar in History Units: 4 Readings and discussion in significant historical literature of a specific thematically or geographically-defined area of history, emphasizing the chief areas of historical controversy and interpretation. Refining skills in analysis and use of evidence through study of major historians.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 12 units when content varies. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop advanced knowledge in a region and era of world history.
- analyze historical argument, and the evolution of historical literature on the topic in question.
- identify the role of historiography in shaping our understanding of a historical era or topic.
- produce advanced and original analysis of the topic based on individual research and analysis of secondary literature, and observe the standards of academic integrity.
- identify and orally present original analysis on the topic.
