MUS 661A - Graduate Applied Study: Jazz Piano and Keyboard Units: 1 Individual instruction for music majors at the graduate performance level. Students demonstrate progress before a faculty jury at the end of each semester, please refer to the Music Student Handbook for detailed information.
Prerequisites: Department consent. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 8 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Students in this course will develop performance skills through pedagogically appropriate repertoire, exercises, and technical drills.
- They will learn effective strategies for learning new repertoire, solving musical problems, and increasing facility on their instrument.
- Students will be expected to bring a prescribed group of works to a performance-level standard of completion.
