MUS 661A - Graduate Applied Study: Jazz Piano and Keyboard

Individual instruction for music majors at the graduate performance level. Students demonstrate progress before a faculty jury at the end of each semester, please refer to the Music Student Handbook for detailed information.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 8 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Students in this course will develop performance skills through pedagogically appropriate repertoire, exercises, and technical drills.
  2. They will learn effective strategies for learning new repertoire, solving musical problems, and increasing facility on their instrument.
  3. Students will be expected to bring a prescribed group of works to a performance-level standard of completion.
