CS 321 - Computer Architecture

Units: 3
Logical design of digital computers. Boolean algebra, combinational and sequential circuits, computer arithmetic, memories, integrated circuits, control processors, input/output.

Prerequisites: CS 211 and CS 221, both with grade C- or better.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Analyze the design of instruction sets;
Compare pipelining techniques;
Explain issues in hierarchical memory system design;
Classify and describe parallel computer architectures;
Demonstrate the ability to program microprocessors in assembly language.
