ART 493H - Fine Art Practice Senior Project

Units: 3
Students produce a body of fine art work reflecting mastery of materials, processes, and creative production skills that meet professional standards. Students develop a professional portfolio and career documents, and prepare to transition to postgraduate life.

Prerequisites: B.A. Art major or B.F.A. major, and senior standing.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Produce a body of fine art work at a professional level;
Demonstrate mastery of the key concepts and techniques of fine art practice;
Envision a sophisticated piece or body of work, write and present a proposal, plan and execute a steady practice to realize the work and present it to an audience;
Develop materials (cover letter, CV, portfolio, et) necessary for successful advancement in the field;
Anticipate and plan a course of professional development, including interviews, grant applications, competition entries, and graduate school applications.
