HDEV 433 - Technologies, Media, and Adolescence Units: 4 Examination of contemporary research, trends, and issues as they relate to adolescents’ use of media and technologies.
Prerequisites: Junior, senior or post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identity the major sources of media and technology used by today’s adolescents (SLO 1).
- Understand how quickly technology and media are evolving and the impact this has on adolescence (SLO 2).
- Critically analyze current research as it relates to technologies and media with adolescents (SLO3).
- Understand how technologies and media impact various levels of adolescent development (i.e., biological, social, cultural) (SLO 4).
