ANTH 330 - Political Ecology Units: 3 Critical analysis of foundational texts and ethnographies in social, economic, and environmental anthropology. Examination of class, gender, ethnic, and ecological dynamics in the context of small-scale and global political economies.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to;
- identify, summarize, and sequence the basic schools of thought in social anthropology;
- describe the basic intellectual orientations of Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, and Max Weber;
- discuss the influences of historical materialism, structuralism and functionalism, and methodological individualism on contemporary social science research.
