MGMT 672 - Lean Launchpad Seminar


Units: 3
Students work in teams on either a new venture, or a client-facing project. Teams conduct at least 50 of their own outside interviews during the semester. This seminar focuses on in-class discussion combined with extensive experiential learning outside the classroom.

Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Coping skills to deal with uncertainty, challenging deadlines, conflicting input from customers and other experts, and other aspects of working in a new venture environment.
  2. Critical thinking skills to assess and prioritize time on task according to its strategic importance.
  3. Develop a capacity for persistence in the face of discouraging information and comments.
  4. Apply skills for interviewing potential customers and stakeholders.
  5. Advanced presentation skills in the form of a highly effective 2 minute investment pitch.
