HIST 326 - Global Feminisms: A History Units: 3 Introduction to movements for women’s rights (educational, political, economic, sexual, and reproductive) around world since 1900. Focus on the different national and international contexts in which the varied forms of feminist thought and women’s activism arise.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Understand Global Feminisms as historically evolving and both transnational and regional in nature.
- Analyze the evolution of diverse global feminist thought, activism and policy through the use of historical evidence;
- Identify culture and historical context as integral to understandings of women’s status and forms of feminist expression and politics;
- Apply knowledge of women’s history to understand feminist thought and activism across time on local and global levels.
