KIN 310 - Bone Health and Exercise


Units: 3
The relationship between bone health and exercise from adolescence to aging. Review current guidelines and literature and apply the guidelines to communities.

Prerequisites: BIOL 270 and BIOL 271.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Discuss foundational topics in skeletal health and exercise.
  2. Discuss experimental approaches used to assess bone health.
  3. Understand the current guidelines for bone health during adolescence and aging.
  4. Critically analyze current literature and utilize this literature to address common questions.
  5. Assess current bone health and exercise interventions in the community.
