KIN 480 - Gender and Sexualities in Sport


Units: 3
The relationship between sex, gender, sexuality, and sport. Topics include sport and intersectionality, the body, and homophobia.

Prerequisites: Kinesiology major.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify and analyze the links with sport and gender, sexuality, identity, and social justice.
  2. Critically reflect on sport as it intersects with gender, sexuality, race, and class.
  3. Analyze the ways sport and sport participants disrupt gender/sex binaries.
