KIN 300 - Critical Inquiry in Kinesiology Units: 4 Theory and application of research methods and data analysis to professional practice in kinesiology. Develop knowledge and skills to be a consumer and producer of research in kinesiology.
Prerequisites: B.S. Kinesiology major, BIOL 270, BIOL 271. Equivalent Quarter Course: KIN 3300. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Plan and evaluate research.
- Understand basic levels of measurement, validity, reliability, types of tests and be able to apply this knowledge when reading research studies.
- Develop an understanding of statistics and how to present and interpret statistical results
- Conceptualize and implement interview and observation scenarios that reflect the generation of qualitative data
- Compare and contrast the different designs of qualitative and quantitative research
