MUS 354 - East Bay Orchestra Units: 1 Large music ensemble in the tradition of the Symphonic Orchestra. Field trips may be required. Students must successfully audition with the ensemble director in order to enroll.
Prerequisites: Department consent. Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 3502. Both courses constitute the same ensemble, an orchestra. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 8 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Engage in a rigorous course study culminating in the performance of diverse and high-quality repertoire for wind ensembles.
- Attend all rehearsals and performances.
- Arrive early and be prepared to tune promptly at the beginning of rehearsal.
- Prepare your music thoroughly before each rehearsal
- Be engaged throughout the rehearsal.
- Constantly challenge yourself to improve as a musician and ensemble member.
