MUS 354 - East Bay Orchestra


Units: 1
Large music ensemble in the tradition of the Symphonic Orchestra. Field trips may be required. Students must successfully audition with the ensemble director in order to enroll.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 3502. Both courses constitute the same ensemble, an orchestra.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 8 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Engage in a rigorous course study culminating in the performance of diverse and high-quality repertoire for wind ensembles.
  2. Attend all rehearsals and performances.
  3. Arrive early and be prepared to tune promptly at the beginning of rehearsal.
  4. Prepare your music thoroughly before each rehearsal
  5. Be engaged throughout the rehearsal.
  6. Constantly challenge yourself to improve as a musician and ensemble member.
