EDLD 725 - Reading and Writing about Educational Leadership


Units: 3
Students synthesize the empirical literature to provide compelling evidence for the importance of an identified educational issue, the state of current research and the need for future research. 

Prerequisites: Admission to Ed.D. Educational Leadership Program.
Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid Only.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify and assess methods of implementing change within an educational organization that lead to improved outcomes for all students (1.6).
  2. Identify and assess structures necessary to stimulate a learning culture where individuals actively listen to understand, engage, and act (1.7).
  3. Document and assess processes used to create and sustain democratic structures that enable all members to participate in decisions that promote equity and student learning (1.8).
  4. Consider and evaluate the range of information producers and stakeholders for educational issues (8.3).
  5. Identify and analyze multiple perspectives that inform educational issues.
  6. Identify and analyze gaps and biases in professional knowledge (8.4).
  7. Demonstrate proficiency in academic writing genres, including logical argumentation, coherent organization, and appropriate sentence structures (9.1).
  8. Assess, evaluate, and synthesize evidence to support an argument (9.2).
