MUS 463D - Applied Study: Double Bass Units: 1 Individual instruction for music majors or minors at the Upper Division performance level. Students demonstrate progress before a faculty jury at the end of each semester. A failed jury results in a failing grade for the course. Audition required.
Prerequisites: MUS 263D. Co-requisites: Minimum of one course from the MUS 351-355 series. Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 3633 and MUS 4633. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 4 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop technical skills through pedagogically appropriate repertoire, exercises, and drills.
- Improve knowledge and awareness of musical style and performance practice.
- Develop effective strategies for creating new repertoire, solving musical problems, and increasing facility in double bass.
- Bring a prescribed group of works to a performance-level standard of completion.
