Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Perform all major and minor scales and arpeggios, 2 octaves, hand together. Perform chord progressions in multiple major and minor keys.
- Perform major triads and inversions.
- Provide one- and two-hand harmonizations to simple melodies.
- Transpose simple melodies with accompaniment.
- Improve reading and sight-reading abilities at the keyboard.
- Prepare repertoire for public performance in front of peers and instructor.
- Improvise appropriately leveled patterns within clearly defined parameters.
- Perform introductory exercises in open-score and SATB/hymn formats.
- Perform introductory excerpts in chordal and instrumental accompanying.
- Perform introductory excerpts for transposing instruments
