EPSY 632 - Child Abuse Assessment and Reporting Units: 1 Legal and clinical aspects of child abuse as an issue in counseling and psychotherapy practice. Child abuse reporting laws and procedures, the psychological and family system variables important in assessment, and both individual and family treatment strategies.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Students will demonstrate an awareness of diversity and social justice issues, as well as demonstrate competence in working with diverse clinical populations.
- Students will be knowledgeable of and successfully apply appropriate legal and ethical guidelines necessary for the competent practice of MFT/LPCC, including the CA Child Abuse Reporting Act.
- Students will be able to conceptualize cases, articulate systemically-oriented treatment plans, and demonstrate overall competence in clinical practice and recovery-orientated care.
- Students will qualify for state MFT/PCC internship status necessary for continued progression towards MFT/LPCC licensure.
