STAT 351 - Sampling Procedures for Surveys Units: 3 Detailed investigation of sampling methods. Development of surveys. Design and comparisons of stratified, systematic, and cluster sampling procedures. Use of survey, statistical, and cloud-based software. Emphasis on applications to social sciences.
Prerequisites: STAT 100. Equivalent Quarter Course: STAT 3510. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop survey questions which result in data that can lead to exploring how power and social identity affect social outcomes for different cultural and economic groups.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how survey statistics can test the concepts of social sciences.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively plan a survey and analyze the resulting data.
