GLST 499 - Senior Seminar in Global Studies Units: 3 Advanced research, analysis and evaluation of global systems, processes and outcomes. Synthesis and application of knowledge and understanding of chosen major emphasis in the form of a capstone paper on a relevant contemporary issue.
Prerequisites: GLST 101. Equivalent Quarter Course: INTS 4500. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - demonstrate detailed knowledge of and the ability to use concepts and theories related to global studies;
- demonstrate their ability to systematically research a topic in global studies closely related to their chosen emphasis using traditional and electronic research materials appropriate for an academic project;
- demonstrate their ability to write an analytical or argumentative paper in college-level academic English using an approved style guide;
- demonstrate their ability to make professional-quality presentations on assigned topics and/or on their individual research;
- demonstrate their ability to prepare for and actively contribute to group discussions on identified readings, exhibiting academic maturity and rigor in peer interactions;
- demonstrate their ability to assess the Global Studies Program in terms of their personal academic growth and expectations through a process of self-reflection
