Selected contemporary novels in English written by authors from different national, cultural, and social backgrounds and representative of international literature.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: ENGL 204.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 4876.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Read, discuss, and interpret unique qualities of the contemporary global novel; 
  2. Write informal responses and close analysis of international novels;
  3. Research and present relevant historical and social contexts for current literary works;
  4. Listen, collaborate, and learn from the diverse perspectives of others in the course;
  5. Appreciate the contemporary novel and its social as well as international relevance.
