ENGL 435 - Global Women’s Literature


Units: 4
Selected works and genres of global literature in English written by women from different historical periods, nations, and cultures.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: ENGL 204.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 4450.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Discuss, analyze, and respond to literature in a collaborative environment;
  2. Understand different elements and different genres of global literature;
  3. Apply feminist theory to global women’s literature to appreciate complex texts, and to explain the contributions and literary history of women’s literature;
  4. Conduct research and design innovative presentations about literature;
  5. Demonstrate improved ability to write formally and informally about literature.
