ENGL 499 - Senior Seminar Units: 4 English major portfolio development, preparation for exit examination, preparation for career options, and information on educational opportunities beyond the English undergraduate degree.
Prerequisites: English major and senior standing. Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 4890. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Analyze and interpret various kinds of texts.
- Express understandings and interpretations of texts in clear and cogent prose.
- Discuss at least one theoretical perspective about literature and/or language.
- Demonstrate knowledge of key English language texts in option concentrations.
- Demonstrate facility with conducing research in traditional/nontraditional ways, including library research, the Internet, and data collection and analysis.
